Basketball Camp
Be Part of the Tradition!
June 30 -- July 2
- The goal of the camp is to enhance the skills of middle school boys that are necessary to compete at the high school level.
- Players will learn sound fundamentals in ball handling, shooting, passing, post play, guard play and defense.
- The coaching staff will work closely with players to improve individual skills.
- Developed and directed by the Nichols School Varsity Basketball Coaching Staff and Head Coach Greg Plumb.
- Counselors include members of the New York State Class A Championship Nichols Varsity Basketball team.
Cost: $75 per camper

Golf Camp
Session 1: June 21 -- June 25
Session 2: June 28 -- July 2
- Five days of driving range and on-course instructions at Harvest Hill, Bright Meadows, South Shore, Bob-O-Link and Ironwood golf courses.
- These distinct facilities provide golfers with focused learned in putting, chipping and pitching, sand play and the long game.
- Emphasis on etiquette, rules and mechanics.
- Convenient drop-off and pick-up at Nichols.
- Developed and directed by the Nichols Golf Coach, Ronald Montesano.

Lacrosse Camp
June 14 -- June 18
- A fun and exciting way to learn lacrosse!
- Improve your knowledge of the field game and your stick skills.
- Clinic includes offensive and defensive concepts and game strategies.
- Learn special situational play and rules.
- Designed to be an up-temp clinic with personal attention and top level instruction.
- Directed by Joe Smith, Buffalo Bandits Defenseman, MLL & NLL player.
Cost: $100

Driver Education
July 5 -- August 20
- Combines the benefits of practical driving skills and defensive driving techniques.
- Program consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of in-vehicle instruction, including six hours behind the wheel.
- Will qualify student for DMV certification and insurance reduction certificate.
- Students must attend all scheduled classes to meet requirements for successful completion.

Girl Power
Getting to the Heart of Girls

- Creates a fun and safe environment for girls to empower their hearts, minds and spirits.
- Activities will include artwork, crafts, movement, nutrition and more.
- Art supplies and other materials are provided.

SAT Preparation
Focused Instruction for the Scholastic Aptitude Test

- Intensive concentration on the verbal and mathematic components of the test.
- Addresses all aspects of the test-taking experience, including time management and problem-solving strategies.
- All course materials included in enrollment fee.
- Directed by Nichols English Teacher, Roddy Potter '82.

Writing for the College Application
Get a Head Start on the College Application Process
July 13 -- July 29, Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Instruction on writing all aspects of the college application, with special focus on the "personal statement".
- Three-week course consists of six, three-hour intensive workshops.
- On-site, one-on-one tutorial available.
- Small class size.
- Developed and directed by Nichols English teacher, Larry Desautels.

Intro to Study Skills
July 26 -- July 30
- Are you falling behind in school or feel hopelessly disorganized? Do you feel as though you just "don't get" certain types of tests or assignments?
- See improvement in your grades by physically and critically organizing information presented.
- Directed by Nichols History teacher and Junior Class Dean, Dr. Joel Siepierski.
Cost: $175
Open to all high school students.

Math & Science Enrichment Camp I
June 14 -- June 18
- Explore the fun in physics by learning how buildings and bridges are built and demolished.
- Learn about local rivers and streams by visiting the different water environments and conducting experiments.
- Make slime and brainstorm solutions to baffling problems and puzzles.
- Includes experiential field trips to Buffalo’s research companies, science centers, Buffalo Zoo and the Niagara Gorge.

Math & Science Enrichment Camp II
June 14 -- June 18
- Mornings are dedicated to water everywhere. Using Tift Nature Park, the Scajacuada water shed and water from our own eco-pond we will learn to analyze the properties of water and water quality.
- Produce comparative studies of the water quality in Western New York then team up with the Buffalo Outdoor Urban Education Foundation to discuss aquatic pollution.
- Wrap up the week with a three hour, hands on tour aboard the tall ship Spirit of Buffalo.
- Afternoons will prove that math is fun! Filled with mathematics, puzzles and computer programming you will learn about Euler circuits and paths, planarity of graphs, linear and quadratic regressions of circles, and the programming language SiMPLE.

Excelsior Scholars Program
In conjunction with the Buffalo Museum of Science
June 14 -- June 18
- Discover the Microbes Within: The Wolbachia Project – Add your research to that of University of Rochester scientists!
- You will extract DNA from insects, pass it through electrophoresis and compare it with the bacteria Wolbachia, the bacterium responsible for altering the gender and reproductive capacity of some insects.
- Travel to Tifft farm Nature Preserve to collect and identify insects and visit the Center for Bioinformatics to discuss genome research and reading genes.

Hockey Development Camp
August 16 -- August 20
- Full-day hockey camp for boys and girls of all ability levels.
- Three on-ice training sessions daily.
- Off-ice activities include soccer, basketball and ball hockey.
- Camp runs 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
- Friday is "Game Day" and we will dismiss before lunch.
- Lunch will be provided daily and each camper will receive a Nichols hockey jersey.

Elite Hockey Camp
August 9 -- August 13
- Full-day camp for Squirt and Pee Wee boys.
- A great opportunity to “warm up” for the 2010 season with conditioning and skill development.
- Ideal for advanced players that have one or more years of AAA hockey experience or compete at the highest AA level.
- Training will include advanced skating, shooting, stick handling, passing, strength and conditioning, as well as off-ice activities.
- Players will learn about proper nutrition and how to become on-ice “problem solvers,” through discussion and implementation of team concepts in non-traditional, situational scrimmages.
- Offensive and defensive strategies will be covered.
- Lunch will be provided daily and each camper will receive a Nichols hockey jersey.
