Produced and edited by Nichols Alumna Ellen Unher Frick ’76
and Gretchen Burger, the film was shot in High Definition by
Marc Pingry, Emmy award-winning cinematographer, and
features an original score by Rafe Pearlman.
The documentary film is the story of Roni Herhenzon who lost two sons in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Putting anger and despair side, he co-founded the Parents Circle, a support group for bereaved families, Israelis and Palestinians together. They use their pain to cry out their worldwide message: No More Death. Another Side of Peace follows Roni’s efforts to reach reconciliation and to come to terms with the deaths of his sons. He and Palestinian Ghazi Brigieth work together to connect with other bereaved parents in Israel and The Palestinian Territories. “The film is neither pro-Israeli nor pro-Palestinian, it’s pro-peace,” says Ellen Frick, the director of the feature-length film.
